The Raiders were started by Mark Rinehart. The group practiced in Mark's basement. Bob was playing a Kent bass guitar along with a Kent amp he had purchased at Alber's which was located on the corner of 8th St. and Greene St. Steve had a set of Ludwig drums which consisted of what was a standard kit at the time: kick, snare, rack tom and floor tom along with a couple of cymbals and hi-hat. Mark had given Bob guitar lessons when Bob was first starting out. The band played a couple of dances at the Boone Community Bldg. before everyone lost interest which lead to their disbanding.
